Florida Shark Conservation

Our Goal
Our goal is to educate the masses about the local Florida shark species and spread awareness and promote the conservation of all sharks. Sharks are a vital part of the marine ecosystem and function as a keystone species keeping our oceans balanced. They protect seagrass beds, rid the ocean of disease-ridden fish, among many other things. As a team, we must work to promote shark conservation and end the negative stereotypes about them by educating people about them. Florida, among many states along the coast, has implemented many efforts to support sharks but we must continue these efforts and spread awareness.

About Me
Aspiring Marine Biologist/ USF Marine Biology Student
I’m an aspiring Marine Biologist originally from Mid-Missouri, recently moved to the Tampa area to continue my education as a marine biologist. I want to dedicate my life to exploring and researching the physiology and behaviorisms of sharks and continue to grow my knowledge and appreciation for them. My experience includes being a marine life intern at the Coastal Marine Education Academy working with sharks and stingrays. There I worked with sharks hands-on and got to witness for myself how amazing they are. I have always had a passion for marine life and protecting those who cannot speak for themselves which is why I am pursuing a degree in marine biology.
